Jurnal Ekonomi dan Perbankan Syariah is a scholarly journal published by Islamic Banking Department, School of Islamic Economics STEI SEBI The JEPS journal has been issued since 2013 and it’s have published twice in a year in April and October. The journal has been publishing scholarly papers since 2013. Starting in 2018 onwards, we encourage authors to only submit research papers written in good-read English academic writing. The journal is designed to provide a forum for researchers or academicians and also practitioners who are interested in knowledge and in discussing ideas, issues and challenges in the field of Islamic economic and banking. To solve the problem of the ummah and to provide the solution for the gap between the theories and practices. The scope or coverage of this journal will include but are not limited to Islamic economics, Islamic business, Islamic banking, Islamic capital markets, Islamic wealth management, issues on shariah implementation/practices of Islamic banking, zakat and awqaf, takaful, Islamic corporate finance, shariah-compliant risk management, Islamic derivatives, issues of Shariah Supervisory Boards, Islamic business ethics.

Abstract

Pesantren Entrepreneur is an Islamic dormitory school that has dakwah activity as well as a business activity. Business activity becomes one of society development indicator. In a hadith, Rasul Saw said, 9 of 10 luck is from trading. Unfortunately, it is many people still think to get luck by becoming an employer. Run a business is a way to get a luck that people can do. Moreover, Indonesia is a country that has so much of natural resources. Nevertheless, up to now, many Indonesian are unable to take that great chance. Indonesia has a great potential. If Indonesian is able to take the chance then the poverty will easily to be removed. Moreover, Pesantren Entrepreneur has many programs of society empowerment, particularly in a small micro enterprise sector. Based on the statement above, it is so interesting to discuss about Society Empowerment and the steps in Pesantren Entrepreneur to Empower Society in Small Micro Enterprise sector.Keywords: Pesantren Entrepreuner, aktivitas bisnis, Micro Entreprise, Emporwer Society

Abstract

With the development and welfare reasons, the government diverts thousands hectare civil‟s gardens for the sake of oil palm plantation development. Beside the unfair handing the Ulayat land mechanism, the switch function of productive agricultural lands led to growing economic inequality which lead to the conflict. Therefore, the thought of Abu Ubaid in the book of al-Amwal regarding the law and politics in the land or plantations as a benchmark in achieving solution upon the issue. The research question in this study namely: How does the view of Abu „Ubaid about the government's role in the distribution and management of plantations? and what kind of policies is needed, so it can effectively decrease the gaps in the current farm/land owner?. The methodology in this present study used descriptive research which is library-based research. The data were analyzed qualitatively. Data used in this study is qualitative data obtained from an authentic source comprising a source of primary data and secondary data sources. The results show that that the law and the way of Abu „Ubaid provide a solution to the inequality of land ownership is very different from the government policy in Indonesia. One of the policy which is to clarify over the abandoned land by tenants is for three years and then the government takes the right for the land. The government has the authority to give the land to a new tenant who wants to turn the land becomes more productive.

Abstract

This research is departing from the development of Islamic banking industry, which is growing rapidly. Moreover, the bank demanded to implement good corporate governance (GCG) in order to prevent any risk of islamic banking losses, both financial loss and reputation risk. The implementation of GCG in islamic banking industry have to meet the shariah compiance. Thus, to ensure the shariah compliance, it requires shariah supervisiory board (DPS), which it serves to maintain the bank‟s adherence to islamic principles in their activities to manage customer funds. The regulation of Bank of Indonesia no. 11/33/PBI/2009 on the implementation of GCG in islamic banks provide a comprehensive policy regarding the duties and the responsibilities of the DPS to ensure the fulfillment of islamic principles in implementation of good corporate governance in islamic banking.Keywords: Good corporate governance, Islamic Banking, Shariah Supervisiory Board, Shariah Principles, Regulation of Bank of Indonesia

Abstract

Di tengah semangat masyarakat sipil dalam memberdayakan dana zakat, muncul kemudian regulasi yang tercantum dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 23 Tahun 2011, Regulasi ini terkesan bertentangan dengan perjalanan pengelolaan zakat sebelumnya. Penelitian ini berbasis studi literatur dari kajian literatur zakat klasik hingga kontempore, dapat disimpulkan hasil penelitian ini : pertama bahwa UU tersebut merubah struktur LAZ menjadi sub-ordinasi dari pemerintah, sehingga semangat kebersamaan yang ada dalam UU sebelumnya, diubah menjadi semangat sentralisasi, kedua syarat pendirian LAZ pun dirasa semakin sulit. UU baru memerintahkan LAZ yang mayoritas berbentuk yayasan, untuk berubah menjadi organisasi masyarakat dan mendapatkan rekomendasi BAZNAS dan pejabat berwenang. ketiga adanya ancaman sanksi pidana juga hal lain yang menghambat masyarakat sipil dalam mengelola zakat. Posisi amil tradisional dalam UU ini dianggap ilegal. Dan pelakunya terancam pidana kurungan maupun denda.Kata Kunci: Lembaga Zakat, Regulasi, Yayasan,Masyarakat

Abstract

Self-reliance in managing zakat in Indonesia has developed the last ten years. Through the Institute of Amil Zakat, they could design the communities with professionally, transparently, and accountable. Along with the developing of institutions of amil zakat from traditional to modern institutions, there are many institutions adapt the conventional disciplines. But since, the appering the Government Act No. 23 of 2011 on zakat management affected to this institutions to accommodate it, for example is PKPU. The community of LAZ (KOMAZ) tried to eximine the material of UU.23/2011. Abstract

The issue will be discussed in this paper is how the relationship and influence of HR management role, and the performance of the employees in Islamic bank. In addition this study will try to answer; whether the role of human resource management has a strong relationship with the employee's performance of Islamic banks or not; and whether the role of human resource management have a significant influence on employee performance of Islamic banks. This study focuses on BMI as a business unit and on the role of human resource management that includes the four functions, namely payroll management, knowledge management center, bussines strategic partner and champion employed. The results shown that HR Management has is no significant relationship to staffing, performance evaluation, compensation and industrial relations.Keywords: Human Resource Management, Employee Performance, BMI
